Moving & Positioning Pods

The look of a page can be dramatically altered by: which pods are used, pod styling, and the relative positioning of each pod.

Pods can be repositioned on a page, or moved to, copied to or linked/mirrored on another page.

Repositioning Pods (moving on the same page)

Hovering over the activity bar reveals two ways to change a pod's position on a page: Move Up/Down or Move Anywhere.

Move Up/Down

cms interface - move upcms interface - move down Use the boxes with green or red arrows to move the pod up or down one position. One click switches the pod's position with the pod directly above or below it.

Move Anywhere

cms interface - move anywhere Use the box with both green and red circular arrows to: move more than one position at a time (e.g. from the bottom of the page to the top) or to move the pod into or out of another pod.

This move action requires two steps:

  1. Select the pod you wish to move and

    Select where you wish it to go (above, below, or inside another pod

Move/Link/Dupe to another page

cms interface - pod link Pods can be moved to other pages in three different ways: Moving, Linking, or Duplicating.

Each of these actions will place the pod at the bottom of the main content area of the new/destination page and move you to its administrative view. You will then (likely) need to reposition the pod on the page.

Moving (to another page)

Pods can be moved from one page to another by following these steps.

  1. Select the pod's "move/link/dupe" icon

    Locate the destination page

    Click the "Move" button

Linking content

Pods can exist on more than one page by being linked together.

  1. Select the pod's "move/link/dupe" icon

    Locate the destination page

    Click the "Link" button

cms interface - pod unshareNote: pods that are linked are identical. Changes to one, including deletions, will happen on all the pages to which it belongs. To remove the pod from only one page, you must first unlink it from the other pages.

Duplicating a pod

There are times when a pod (and it's children) are formatted so nicely that you want to repeat the formatting on other pages, but have the content remain unique.

  1. Select the pod's "move/link/dupe" icon

    Locate the destination page

    Click the "Duplicate" button
